Fun at Carolina Fiber Fest

Yesterday afternoon I took off work a little early and met my friend from knitonregardless* at the Carolina Fiber Fest.  What fun we had checking out all the fibery goodness, and we even had our own paparazzi in the form of her husband. I'm the short one on the right.

We were both trying to be mindful of how much money we spent, so while I did walk out with a few purchases, it would have been much, much worse if I had purchased everything that grabbed my eye!

I've been really enjoying using Wolle's color changing cotton lately, so I snagged 2 skeins of a new color she had called Glory.  I think that this is destined to be a Roxbury Pond shawl.

I fell in love with The Unique Sheep's cotton lace weight yarn Ostara in the Jack's Beach colorway.  I'm not sure yet, but I'm thinking maybe High Seas or Three Quarter Time.  I don't think I would have bought a cotton lace weight normally, but Laura had a sample knit up in this yarn and it's sooooo soft once it's washed and blocked.

My final purchase was a skein of Unplanned Peacock's Whisper Lace in Sapphire.  Who can resist alpaca, silk & cashmere all in one yarn?  Not me, that's for sure.  And that blue!  No idea what this one is going to be yet, but I'm sure I'll find something to do it justice.

So all in all, I'm thrilled with everything I purchased, and I had a fun afternoon fondling yarn and hanging out with a good friend. And that's what it's all about right?

*Yes, she has a name, but I've noticed she doesn't use it on her blog, and I keep forgetting to ask her if it's o.k. to use it on mine.
